Method

  1. Cut hoagie bun in half (if not already cut), set aside.
  2. In a large preheated pan or on a preheated grill, add the canola oil. Once oil is hot, add green and red peppers, onions and toss until tender. Remove and set aside prior to building the sandwiches. In the same large pan or on grill, place whole onion slices and grill until tender and carmelized. Set aside.
  3. In the same large pan or on grill, heat the shaved beef until hot.
  4. To build each sandwich: open the bun and place 60 gm of shaved beef and top with 25 gm of the grilled vegetables. Cover with two half-slices of provolone cheese. Place on a baking sheet and heat in a 350 F (170 C) preheated oven heat until cheese melts. Serve hot.Garnish with sliced raw vegetables and dip (nutritional analysis not included).
